Charles Smith preached two sermons on the subject which has greatly aroused the interest of the inhabitants.  The partied benefited by the cures are Miss Lissa Knight and Miss Cora Harrison; both were confirmed invalids, for whom the physicians said there was no hope.  Through the solicitations of Rev. Smith and wife they were induced to try the effects of prayer.  On Sunday, August 25, they attended church and are completely cured of their ailments.

Rohrabacher vs. White

 

A law suit at Potter Brook: Rohrabacher vs. White for assault and battery was held here on Christmas Day.  Adjourned to Tuesday of this week.  Again adjourned till Jan. 8, 1887.  Case of Commonwealth against White for assault and battery on the person of Brom Rochrabacher.  Decided in favor of defendant after sharp altercation between attorneys which lasted till 9 P. M.
