Interesting revival meeting conducted at Harrison Valley conducted by Rev. Clough and Rev. Allen assisted by Rev. Windsor, called by some “the bark peeler.” He is a very earnest worker.  A number of conversations have been made. The Kickapoo Indian Medicine Company is giving entertainments nightly and selling medicine and bead work.

On the evening of March 5, 1893 occurred the death of Capt. J. W. Stevens of Harrison Valley.  Had been ill for some weeks with fever it was supposed, but later the disease was not understood.  One of best known and highly respected citizens of county.  He served with distinction in the late war and for many years after was a merchant at Harrison Valley.

Harvey Seeley added at his home in Brookfield May 21, 1892. Born in Cornwall, Litchfield Co, Conn. June 17, 1812.  Came with parents to Penna. When five years old.  Resided in Brookfield 75 years.  In March 1841 married Miss Mary Joseph who survives.  Funeral from home Sunday. Rev. D. A. Parcells.  Burial at Austinburg.

A hanging lamp fell from the ceiling of the Harrison Valley House on Saturday evening.  It struck on the stairs, smashed, and the oil took fire.  The Baptist Young People’s Union were assembled on the second floor, and he cry of fire being given, there was plenty of excitement.  Miss Iva Fletcher was frightened into hysterics.  The fire was smothered and little damage done.
