Rev. H. F. Allen, pastor of the Baptist church at H. V. has resigned his position and will go to Peckville, Pa., near Scranton as pastor of a large church there.  He is well liked by all and leaves many friends here.

R. N. Stone was born in Harrison Dec. 16, 1829.  Married to Minerva C. Stevens May 18, 1858.  His home has always been in the home in which he was born.  Died May 11, 1896 as result of a shock suffered about a year ago and one which occurred about seven weeks ago.  Leaves two sons, Delton and Elbert, and one daughter, Ethie, also his wife.  Leaves two brothers and five sisters.  Services by Rev. B. T. Allen.  Burial at Mills.

Mr. Graham died at home of his son Wesley Graham last Monday.  Memorial service held at M. E. church Saturday.  Fine music by choir. Rev. Segwilk of Osceola gave address.  Rev. Brown offered prayer.  Arch Stevens gave a short oration and Miss Lena Stevens a recitation.

Coykendall, out popular postmaster, and Will Gilbert, our popular druggist made them a surprise party June 24th, it being their 50th birthdays.  A short program was given in the Masonic Hall: Prayer, Rev. Brown; song by Mrs. D. D. Chapin; select reading by Mrs. J. S. Crown; singing by Mr. and Mrs. Dean Parker; recitation, Bessie Wallis.  D. D. Chapin as spokesman presented Mr. Coykendall with a book of poems, plush footstool and office chair.  Mr. Gilbert also had a book of poems and office chair.

Rev. Windsor preaches his farewell sermon here on Friday evening.  There should be a good turnout and in the meantime people should make up a small present to show their appreciation of the great service done them as Mr. Windsor has had to make extra effort to get here.
