The first to be buried in the cemetery at Homer was a little three year old Son of Orange Strong. Then, Little Moses, son of Solomon Foster, then Lola Harris, a sister of Pliny Harris, Eunice Hall, dau. of Dennis Hall Sr., Philander Gustin, 12 yrs old, Mr.  Asa Lathrop and others.

A few of the Citizens interested in the cemetery at Inez met at that place on Sat. afternoon June 15, 1898 and discussed the feasibility of enlarging the grounds and plotting, fencing and otherwise improving the beautiful spot where sleep so many of the pioneers of Homer Township and vicinity. A committee of three men was appointed to negotiate for the purchase of half an acre of adjoining land, to ascertain the cost of substantial fencing and to ascertain the sentiment of the community as to incorporating an association to own and control the grounds. All who are interested in the preservation of the cemetery should confer with the committee regarding it. The members are William Crosby, Albert K. Earl, and John S. Colcord. A meeting will be held in about two weeks to take further action in the matter.
