Mrs. Edward Crippen died at her home on Clinton St. Tuesday.  Mary Viola Burnett was born in Brockport, N.Y. in July 1853 and was a daughter of the late John & Adelia Burnett.  When small she moved to Wellsboro with her parents.  Jan. 1, 1883 she was married to Edward Crippen.  One child was born to them but died in infancy.  Buried in the Crippen cemetery.

Word was received at Oleona of the death of Charles Francis on Feb. 28th in Buffalo,  N.Y. He was a true son of the Stowell Dam of Slate Run, 2 miles from the Jersey Shore turnpike in 1869.  At that time his parents “Pack” Francis and Jennie Ashcraft Francis were employed by Phelps and Dodge who were clearing the virgin pine from the Black Forest.  He is survived by his widow the former Margaret Clulkey and 4 children:  Mrs. Willard Lund, Miss Sybil Robgr and Miss Cynthia, all of Buffalo, one bro. Jessie Francis of Haynerville and one sister, Mrs. James Jerolds of Stewardson.  Buried in Buffalo.

John Dolne died Sunday morning.  (April 8, 1923) He was born in Austria, Oct. 29, 1867 and came to America at the age of 16.  He married Elizabeth Gajdos in New York City in 1893.  Six children were born to them,  four survived.  Survived by his wife, & children, Mrs. Arthur Johnson, Edward & William Dolne of Galeton, and John of Koppel, Pa.  Buried in West Hill cemetery.

Potter County seems to have an unusally large number of its “old settlers” left who are to be congratulated on their old age.  Among the latest of these to have a birthday is Mrs. Mary Hatch of Oswayo who this past week celebrated her 102nd birthday anniversary.  She has an alert mind, reads and talks on current topics and can recite poetry learned in her school days.  Her husband has been dead since the Civil War and she is living with one of her five children.

M. R. Cooke, Supt. Of Beerstown Acetate Plant at Walton, N.Y., a former resident of Galeton was fatally injured in an automobile accident, Nov. 7th.  He was born at Nelson, Tioga Co., Pa.  Aug. 25, 1860.  In 1896 he was married to Miss Elizabeth Dailey of Austin, Pa. Survived by his widow and the following sons and daughters,  Miss Marian Cooke, Buffalo;  W.D. Cooke, Philadelphia; Mrs. E. S. Laberdee, Gouvernour;  Mrs. E. A. Morris Rosenbloom aged 39 years jumped out of the second story window of his brother’s home, Frank Rosenbloom at Austin last Tuesday and died at Keating Summit while enroute to a hospital in Buffalo.  Mr. Rosenbllom who lives in Olean was married to Pauline Taksen of that city on Nov. 26th and the bridal couple were on their honeymoon.

Albert H. Kinney aged 78 years died at his home in Rochester, N.Y.  Dec. 12th.  He was born in North East, Pa. on Oct. 14, 1845.  He enlisted in the Union Army at Geneva, Ohio and served int eh 105th Ohio Volunteer Infantry.  He was ordained a Methodist minister following the war and had charges in Gold and Oswayo, Potter Co.  He made his home with his son, Richard Kinney of Walton.  Survived by his widow, one son, Robert and two daughters, Maude and Mabel, both of Rochester.  Buried at Rochester.
